HIFU

You are here:

What is HIFU?

HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-surgical skin tightening and lifting treatment.
It uses focused ultrasound energy to heat the deeper layers of the skin, which triggers your body to produce new collagen.

Think of it as a non-invasive facelift without needles, downtime, or surgery.

How HIFU Works

HIFU sends ultrasound energy into the SMAS layer of the skin — the same layer a surgeon lifts during a facelift.

This energy:

  • Gently heats deep tissues
  • Causes collagen fibres to contract
  • Stimulates new collagen and elastin over the next 8–12 weeks

What HIFU Helps With

HIFU is effective for:

Face

  • Lifting the jawline
  • Tightening loose neck skin (“turkey neck”)
  • Reducing nasolabial folds
  • Lifting brows and eyelids
  • Defined cheekbones
  • Smoothing wrinkles

Body

  • Tightening stomach skin
  • Firming arms
  • Lifting buttocks
  • Tightening inner thighs

Treatment Time & Results

  • 30–90 minutes, depending on area
  • No downtime — you can return to normal activity
  • Best results develop between 8–12 weeks
  • Often one session per year for maintenance

Does It Hurt?

Most people feel:

  • Tingling
  • Warmth
  • Slight zaps in deeper tissue

It’s generally tolerable, but sensitive areas can feel sharper.

Who Should Avoid It

  • People with metal implants in the treatment area
  • Severe active acne in the area
  • Pacemakers or electronic devices
  • Pregnancy
  • Severe skin laxity (surgery may be more appropriate)
